Todd Van Vliet
Todd Van Vliet is the CEO of Frac Shack Inc., a global energy technology company focused on providing innovative solutions that promote safety, efficiency, and environmental protection. Todd’s vision is to build a company that leverages Canada’s prowess in energy technology innovation to change the world of energy. Since co-founding the company in 2011, Todd has grown Frac Shack to over 200 employees, has diversified its business through strategic acquisitions, and has expanded operations across Canada, the US, and Argentina.
Todd has extensive experience as a lawyer advising corporations and owners, which has provided him with valuable insight into creating and attaining corporate performance goals. Todd also has impressive volunteer experience which includes scholarship committees, community leagues, sports coaching and refereeing, business association boards, and political work. Todd has meaningfully contributed to his community through social and business ventures and has been nationally recognized. In 2008, Todd was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from CETAC-WEST. In 2012, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his many community and business contributions. In 2015, Todd was awarded the Ernst &Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Prairie Region for Emerging Entrepreneurs. Then in 2018, Todd was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Prairie Region for Energy, and a special judges’ recognition award for Growth.
Todd has an International Baccalaureate from Lester B. Pearson United World College, a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Alberta, and a law degree from McGill University. Prior to founding Frac Shack, he co-founded a bulk fuel, tank and transportation company called Environmental Refuelling Systems Inc., and prior to that he spent 20 years in private practice as lawyer.
